She had served on the Board of Directors for Elderhelp of San Diego and was Chairperson/Business Resource Committee for the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
Brenda has been married over 25 years to her husband, Tom. They have two beagle rescue dogs and reside in Carlsbad, California. Her hobbies are walking on the beach, learning new recipes to cook healthy meals and spending time with her book club friends. She is involved in community outreach programs through her church and has spent many years fundraising and supporting local Sudanese refugee boys who relocated to San Diego from Southern Sudan.
